Heyoo! You might be directed here from searching google about how to enter PLM College of Medicine. Well, Worry not, because I will be informing you more about that. First, I’m gonna give you a brief introduction about Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila) College of Medicine. It is located inside the walls of Intramuros, Manila. The college started around 1983. And yes, the building still looks like you’re around 1983. Joke! Hehehe. :)) The affliated hospital is Ospital ng Maynila. So dito tayo magppraktis as clerks or later on as interns.

I’m currently a first year student and I want to help sa mga tao jan na kagaya ko noon ay nagtitingin tingin sa net kung papano ba dito sa plm? pano ba mga tips? nakakasurvive ba? pano makapasa sa mcat? anong requirements? ano mga tanong sa interview? Lahat yan try natin sagutan mamaya! :3

Well what I can say is, Okay dito mag-aral! Sobrang mura ng tuition ko kasi subsidized by the government. Im paying around P25,000 per sem at yung iba kong kaklase ay nasa around P10,000 lang. O diba?! Napakamura lang! Mamaya explain natin bakit iba iba pa yung bayad. :)) Quality-wise, sige pwede na!🙂 Top 1 school in Physician Licensure Exam ba naman this 2013 eh! 100% Passing Rate for batch 2013. When it comes to facilities, hmm sige, see for yourself! I expect that you know na PLM is a government school. Pero para sakin, okay naman siya. As long as natututo ako, go lang! :))

Application Process

Unang una, basahin mo to! Yan yung application guidelines last yr pero pde pdn yan.

4 sections kami ngayon with 35-36 students. As far as I’m concerned, Ranking ang pagpili nila dito, It will be based on your NMAT score, MCAT (this is another test from PLM na usually around Feb or March tinatake, i’ll give you tips later on) and lastly, the interview. One more thing na hindi ko sure is ung GWA mo sa undergrad.

I. NMAT

– whoah! Hihi.)

II. MCAT

– We are the first batch to take the new MCAT. Ang tawag ko dito,. Rush Exam. Bakit? 90 mins lang siya. No more, no less. Sobrang time limited! Akala ko dati parang NMAT ito na may general subjects at whole day, Kinakabahan pa kasi ako kasi galing ako drecho from work at baka sa exam ako makatulog (callcenter eh, hoho). Coverage? SECRET. Ayun. Nagulat din ako, yun na pala yung binayad kong P2,000+ for the exam. hahaha. After that, may psych test, pero parang wla lng yon. :))

III. Interview

Usually, scheduled ito, around 20 per day yung students n mgiinterview. The interviewers will be the available doctors na present sa araw na yun! If you’re lucky pwedeng si Dean or Dean secretary ang matapat sayo. :)) Mine is Dr. Tengco! :3 Oh ayan, common questions would be…

-Why do you want to be a doctor?

-Tell me about yourself

-Tell me something about your family

-Why PLM among other colleges?

-They’re gonna inform you about the “PLM bond”. like are you ready to stay or serve for country something like that.

-In which field of medicine do you want to specialize?

-strengths and weaknesses?

-After graduating from PLM, what can you do to give back to your alma mater?

-How do you handle stress?

-What are your fear/s?

-What is the title of your research in your undergrad?

Other Requirements and Release of Results

Hahahaha! And of course, fill up the missing required units. My classmates took theirs sa schools like PCHS sa may Recto. :)) So kailangan nakuha niyo na to by summer before pasukan! :3 PLM CM is the last I think na nagrerelease ng List of passers. Eto yung tipong parang tinatanong mo sa sarili mo, “Ano baaaa. anong petsa na?!..” If I am correct, May 15, 2013 nilabas yung results nung sa amin.

WHY PLM COLLEGE OF MEDICINE?! THIS IS THE ANSWER!

There are 5 categories, pero Cat 1 to 4 lang alam ko. sowee ~_~.

**UPDATE (11/08/14)
To be considered a Cat 1 or Cat 2 Scholar, the student must have voted on least one (1) election under the city of Manila. so di na considered yung voter’s id lang, kailangan may proof of vote. I dunno what kind of paper is needed with that.

Category 1. Eto yung mga graduate ng public school sa Manila, and has Manila voter’s license/ID. Importante yang manila voter’s license or kahit certification lang of voter’s registration (yun lng kc pinasa ko). (Sadly hindi ako pwede dito. T_T) How much? around P10k to P15k, It depends on the ITR of your parents kaya may range pa. This prices are for first yr only kasi dito lang ako aware. So you can expect it to be higher for higher years.

Category 2. Graduates inside/outside Manila + Manila voter’s license/ID. Tuition fee = 23k to 27k

Category 3. Wala lang. Wala ka kasi sa mga ibang category. Haha. This includes Non-Manila voters and Non-Manila college graduate either private or public. Tuition fee = 68k to 75k

Category 4. Alam ko ito yung mga laude. :)) same with Category 1 yung tutition

Partial Scholarship. Ito ay for 2nd year, at ito ang pagasa ng mga non-Manila residents/voters to have a tuition of around 20k++.. This is based from your first year grades and this is above 2.00 ang GWA mo.. Based from our experience sa batch namin around 15-20 ang nakakakuha nito per year level..

College Scholarship. Ito yung mga pang IMBA., Minimum GWA requirement is above 1.75, and the tuition will be around 5k++, On our batch, 5 ata nakakuha nito.🙂

*How to maintain? Study daw. :3 and get a shining grade of 79 and above or equivalent to 2.25. :)))
